AnandTech runs some benchmarks for a prototype phone running Qualcomm's (QCOM) MSM8960 processor, and finds it to blow away most Android devices on the market. While upcoming chips from TXN and NVDA should be on better competitive footing, the MSM8960's combination of top performance and integrated 3G/4G baseband functionality will make it tough to beat.     That's irrelevant without knowing:
    a) its price compared to others
    b) QCOM's capability to mass-produce significant amounts
    c) its power consumption compared to others

     

    Also, half the tests are about GPU performance, while consumers care mostly about snappiness while web browsing and so on (and price).
