Wolfe Research names top airline stock picks

Wolfe Research thinks American Airlines Group (AAL +1.4%), Delta Air Lines (DAL +0.2%), and Alaska Air (ALK +2%) are the top picks in the sector with the carriers faring better than rivals during the cold weather stretch.

The firm notes Q1 revenue and profits will be impacted by flight cancellations, but takes the longer view that the trio are set up for gains and should be bought on weakness.

(DAL) looks great, but I am still siding with (AAL). (ALK) is the low-cost winner.

I bought DAL and AAL (formerly LCC) back in the low twenties because I could not decide which one to pick. It has worked out well so far. I'd consider ALK, but how many airlines stocks can one man own? ; )

Like Michael, I bought both AAL and DAL. I have been slightly overweight DAL 55/45 but each has intangibles going in their favor that UAL, LUV, and the other airlines do not have so I will stay with what I hope becomes very best of breed; not just best of breed.

Like the entire sector..have owned ALK for almost a year and bought US Air ahead of the merger...
Also like SAVE and COPA...both growing airlines.

SAVE yes, it's a growing small company. One of Cramer's picks also.

The new fees and charges abound. Now the attendant says "a mask will fall from the ceiling and for another $15, we will inflate it with oxygen."

Is anyone concerned about the recent insider selling or does this sector have room to run?
