Investors dumping Sears Holdings in front of earnings

Shares of Sears Holdings (SHLD -7%) are being sold off in front of the company's earnings report scheduled for tomorrow.

The department store sector has suffered through a period of decimated margins due to slow store traffic and a heavily promotional atmosphere. It's a toxic mix that Sears is unlikely to have escaped.

Today's report from Dillard's did very little to calm the fears on the sector.

    Once again...time to sell puts.

This is not a challenging stock to play (thanks Bruce and Eddie!).

    you 2 are funny......LMAO

SHLD is great, nobody buys the stock , puts, calls

    I bought BRK.B , the actual stock
I am comfortable 3 years from now they will not be Bankrupt , I hope they will be higher
I think most SHLD investors will be happy if they haven't filed BK by then........LOL

If MSF, Mark, etc.'s theses are all correct, we should see some buying from Eddie Lampert in the near future, correct? I mean shares are once near a multi-year low and a "steal"....

I would say Lampert should buy yes, one way or another, personally or in a stock buyback.

I have the common in a long term fund and trade the options.

According to Bloomberg, EL hasn't markedly increased his stake for a year...and that addition of over 1mm shares was done when the stock was a good 30 points higher. So much for that timing.

In any case, this merry go round play the trading range is not destined to go on forever.
