Porsche CEO defends his turf at Volkswagen

  • Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller has been awarded a new 5-year contract extension from Volkswagen (VLKAY).
  • Mueller has helped the brand show good results in key regions including China.
  • He has also successfully defended Porsche's goal of keeping an air of exclusivity with high-end buyers, despite some pressure from execs at Volkswagen Group to try different tactics to boost sales.

Years go they kind of oversold the 914 which was a cool little car, but some where pissed it had too many VW parts. I always wanted the 6 cyl version, those things are still cool. There is a point where too many makes them too common, but if ya don't sell enough ya can't make any money,it's a fine line of being exclusive and being mass produced to make money

Is the Porsche earnings contribution broken out separately?
