Porsche CEO defends his turf at Volkswagen

Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller has been awarded a new 5-year contract extension from Volkswagen (VLKAY).

Mueller has helped the brand show good results in key regions including China.

He has also successfully defended Porsche's goal of keeping an air of exclusivity with high-end buyers, despite some pressure from execs at Volkswagen Group to try different tactics to boost sales.

Years go they kind of oversold the 914 which was a cool little car, but some where pissed it had too many VW parts. I always wanted the 6 cyl version, those things are still cool. There is a point where too many makes them too common, but if ya don't sell enough ya can't make any money,it's a fine line of being exclusive and being mass produced to make money

Is the Porsche earnings contribution broken out separately?
