I am surprised that Lincoln sales are doing so well. Are they taking market share from Cadillac? What gives? Maybe the consumer report has lost its influnece with comsumers.

It could be argued that Lincoln sales are recovering from all time lows a year ago. You might recall that a year ago, MkZ deliveries were halted due to issues with the roof headliner collapsing and falling on the guys moving the cars around in the parking lot at the factory, when they were supposed to be loading them on trains for shipment. The adhesive supplier in Mexico evidently provided the wrong glue, and they had to re-do all of them. Thousands of them. It took months to recover from that little mistake.

I am very delighted with Ford --for the first time in 20 years, in fact. I have the 2012 Lincoln, with all the bells and whistles. It is modern, comfortable, and has the solid feel of the luxury car it should have been all along. I've the MKZ and it is very drivable (over the longer sedan). The navigation and communication set up is very modern, and particular attention is paid to covering alerts to potential blind spots with side mirror alert lights, and a very modern camera set up for back out aids. Sirius provides even a traffic link and the Sirius sound system is very good. My husband has a Ford hybrid. It is a terrific surprise, with absolutely 47 mi per gal, right along the hillish Oregon coast. I'll trade up for the hybrid next time. Add the heat and cooling of seats, and we are very happy travelers. Consumer reports needs to give Lincoln a new try. I have been debating to go back to my Audi tt, but heck, I like my Lincoln wheels, just fine. I'm kinda proud of Ford for its innovations.
