Black sits at top of P-E earners in 2013

A big year for Apollo Global (APO -3.4%) means a big year for Leon Black, who leads the entire P-E industry in taking home $546.3M for 2013, more than double the previous year. Black and co-founders Josh Harris and Marc Rowan - who combined to take home nearly $1.2B in 2013 - eat their own cooking (as does the rest of the private equity industry), and the majority of this money is dividends on their stock and from their personal investments in Apollo funds. Apollo paid out $3.98 per share in dividends last year vs. $1.98 in 2012.

Their annual salaries are $100K each.
