New deal between Dish Network and Disney is full of treats

Dish Network (DISH) agrees to cut back on the use of its ad-skipping technology for ABC shows as part of a long-term carriage and distribution deal with Disney (DIS). The move could help Disney bring in more advertising revenue than peers.

ABC will drop litigation with Dish over the Auto Hop Feature.

An important part of the arrangement between the two companies gives Dish the online video rights to Disney-owned TV shows.

The development could make it easier for Dish to launch an online TV service in the future to set it apart from other pay-TV providers.
