Moelis & Company files for IPO

The boutique investment bank founded by Wall Street rainmaker Ken Moelis had net income of $70M last year. As comparison, notes the WSJ's Dana Cimilluca, Evercore had $72M in revenue and that firm has a market cap of $1.8B.

Moelis will trade on the Big Board with ticker symbol MC.

    With the M&A slowdown on Wall Street, I'm not sure if now is the best time to IPO an investment bank. But then again, maybe this is the new normal.
