Comcast extends broadband access program

Comcast (CMCSA +1.5%) says it will extend broadband access to poorer regions that it offers under its Internet Essentials program for an indefinite period.

The company offers broadband services for as low as $9.95 to qualifying families.

The development comes with Comcast trying to convince federal regulators to approve its deal to buy Time Warner Cable amid criticism it would raise rates for digital services.

Please don't let Comcast buy TWC. They're already a misbehaved near-monopoly-style company. I'd tell stories, but why waste more time on their ridiculous bad customer service policies? And constant offerings to make money, but not managing quality on the offerings already being paid for?

Let me tell you something that I believe a lot of you know but let it go over your head. 4 years ago Comcast gave every household 2 converter boxes FREE even the government were giving discounts for people to buy converter boxes. I did call Corporate but they did NOTHING. Here it is 4 or 5 years later and just about 1 year ago started charging $1.99 a box including those 2 that they gave every family FREE the two converter boxes to. If someone give you something FREE that is what it is as I never knew an "Indian Giver or try to pull the wool over my eyes" as the word "FREE" is FREE. Talk about deceit and fooling people and lying to people is just one very major story I would like to share with you.

My friends in Florida said they will not use Comcast because they are liars. There reputation is discussing and yes they are manipulating people BUT PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY or ME, check your bills and you will see they are charging you for those FREE converter boxes they GAVE EVERYONE HOUSEHOLD.

Yes they will give you FREE movie channels but put the worst garbage on them. You can not complain because they will never fix the problem, just offer a promotion that will end and then you are paying regular price and of course they will never remind you that it is ending and try and charge you after it ends and that is if you don't continue to call and check your account.
