Nike talks on China and digital shift by consumers

Nike (NKE +1%) CEO Mark Parker steered the conversation toward China when asked on CNBC what he thought about potential global market unrest affecting revenue trends.

The exec says the company is laying the foundation for a new round of growth in the region. In the recent past, Nike has had some stumbles in China due to excess inventory and macro factors.

Parker also backs up the view expressed earlier this year by Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz that consumers made a pronounced shift toward digital shopping this holiday season. It's a shift that brick-and-mortar retailers might not be able to reel back.
