PC motherboard makers Asustek, ASRock, and Gigabyte have slashed their Q1 shipment forecasts due to weak European demand and hard drive shortages, claims a Chinese-language paper. This is another negative datapoint for the PC industry, which yesterday saw #3 vendor Dell (DELL) report a 4% Y/Y drop in desktop sales, and a mere 1% increase in notebook sales for FQ4.
