The CB&I (CBI) and Chiyoda joint venture is awarded a $6B contract for engineering, procurement, and construction work by Cameron LNG to build a 13.5M metric tons/year export plant in Hackberry, La.

The plant will consist of three liquefaction trains with a capacity of ~13.5M metric tons/year of liquefied natural gas; last month, Cameron LNG received conditional authorization from the Department of Energy to export domestically produced LNG to countries without a free trade agreement with the U.S.

Subject to a final investment decision and acquisition of permits and financing, Cameron LNG parent Sempra Energy (SRE) will hold an indirect 50.2% interest in Cameron and the related liquefaction project.
