VIX trading to expand to 24 hours


The CBOE: Where fear never sleeps. Beginning June 22, futures action in the VIX will be available nearly around the clock, with trading beginning on Sunday evenings and not shutting down until Miller Time on Fridays.

The calculation of the actual VIX, however, will only take place during regular U.S. trading hours, says the exchange.

    Starting on June 22, VIX futures trading will begin Sundays at 6:00 p.m. ET and close the week at 4:15 p.m. on Fridays.

    From the Urban Dictionary: "After a long hard day's work you come home, grab a Miller Lite out of the fridge and enjoy a few cold ones. It's Miller Time". Not sure a Lite would do it though...

    Yes, but if you HAD to pick a time of the day?
    6 or 7pm? Depends on your commute I guess.
    In New Zealand everyone gets drunk at their desk on Fridays. Paid for by your employer.
