Autodesk buys marketplace for digitally-designed content


Autodesk's (ADSK -1.7%) latest acquisition is Creative Market, provider of an online marketplace for graphics, templates, fonts, and other digitally-designed content. Terms are undisclosed.

In a blog post, Creative Market's founders suggest Autodesk is buying the company in part to provide "a more consumer-focused offering" for the digital content space.

The CAD software giant has already made a string of acquisitions aimed at growing its consumer and/or cloud exposure. Other purchases: Qontext, Socialcam, Tinkercad.
