- Canadian National Railway (CNI) is set to meet the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC-CTY) this week as the sides look to reach a labor deal.
- The union represents 3,000 CN conductors, yard workers and traffic coordinators.
- The talks will come after TCRC-CTY members narrowly rebuffed a second tentative contract proposal. CN wants to go to binding arbitration if the negotiations fail.
- The dispute also comes as the company attempts to comply with a government order to clear a major bottleneck by transporting 5,500 grain cars a week.
