Highlights from J.C. Penney's latest SEC filing


J.C. Penney (JCP -1.5%) discloses in a SEC filing that the final resolution of its legal squabble with Macy's over Martha Stewart won't have a material adverse effects on results.

The company says it had 117K employees as of February 1.

Looking ahead: The retailer says it's in the "go-forward" part of it turnaround, but notes it might take longer than expected to recover from the negative sales trends.

    ok boys...who read the whole thing and found some creative (legal) accounting? We know about the 1 time pension write-off that brought them to positive $00.11 cents earnings per-share.

     

    Anyone figure out how they lowered SG&A?

    The rising from the ashes may be slow but they are rising and that is good after the RJ debacle. With the commitment to the Home Departments, this will help them rise quicker from the ashes.
