Icahn says he sold half of his Netflix position (he thinks)

Carl Icahn offers some sketchy details on his Netflix (NFLX -8%) position during an animated interview on CNBC.

"I don’t have it in front of me. I think I sold half. And I think it’s a great company, and we’ve got a great CEO there in Reed Hastings, but hey, all these companies, you don’t go to the sky," rants Icahn.

Revised: It appears that Icahn was referencing his Netflix sales last fall with his comments.

Icahn probably already out nflx, just did not want to say on TV. He just wanted to hype HLF...selling that one soon too?

He doesn't quite remember because this sale took place last fall. He also said his son would leave his employ if he sold any more...His son threatened to leave already once when Carl wanted to sell some shares in the 300 range... so he probably is protecting the remaining half with put options, thus appeasing his son and protecting his position.

Wasn't difficult to see this coming. Great company but valuations were out of whack for a while.

Not counting what he has "sold" via various types of derivative plays.
