Executive departures swell at Infosys; Murthy unfazed

Infosys (INFY -1%) India division chief Chandrashekhar Kakal has resigned. ZDNet observes Rakal is the 9th senior exec to leave the IT outsourcing giant since co-founder Narayana Murthy returned as chairman last June.

Other departures include global manufacturing/Americas chief Ashok Vemuri, and outsourcing head V. Balakrishnan.

Though analysts are worried about the departures, Murthy doesn't seem concerned. "Barring exceptions—I have to mention that because there were a couple of good people—the rest of the people who had to leave unfortunately were people who were drawing very high salary and unfortunately we were not getting value from them."

Murthy is firing every single person with a shred of competence so that his son Rohan can succeed him. Short INFY.
