Asia shares tilt lower

  • Asian stocks trade flat-to-lower following strong gains yesterday and absent any major new catalysts. Ongoing concerns about the Ukraine crisis and the Chinese economy continue to affect sentiment.
  • Any selling could also reflect the unwinding of positions ahead of the end of the quarter.
  • "There's nowhere to put money at this point," says fixed-income strategist Tohru Yamamoto. "Investors are generally upbeat on the U.S. but they want to see more evidence that the weakness in some of the recent data is due to a bad weather."
  • Japan -0.4%, Hong Kong -0.6%, China +0.05%, India +0.05%.
