Anheuser-Busch pulls back some more in Russia

Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD +1.2%) says it will close another brewery in Russia due to soft demand.

Beer sales in Russia have fallen apart over the last five years as excise taxes have spiked.

The global beer giant has already closed two plants in Russia.

    Maybe they're just nervous about the fact that Russia got kicked out of G8 and are trying to get out while the going's good. :-)

    Ta0, the G8 is meaningless, because it doesn't include China, England, France, India, Brazil, yet includes pipsqueak Canada and corrupt Italy. No loss for Putin, simply a symbolic move. If there's good money to be made in Russia, BUD woulda stayed. If only they could make vodka...

    LOL. I wonder what Budweiser Vodka would taste like. Probably nasty. To be honest, I don't even know if their beer is good or not since I don't drink, but I don't have to drink beer to like their stock. I think shuttering plants in areas that are not doing well is a good business decision. Sometimes, ya just gotta trim the weak sprouts to maintain and improve the central entity. Perhaps that's why they're up today. I'm waiting on another pullback to add more.
