No doom and gloom from Five Below, shares +15.8% AH

Five Below (FIVE) reports a 0.3% gain in comparable-store sales during FQ4.

Shares of the discounter are ripping gains in AH trading, up 15.8%.

It isn't so much what Five Below did say with its report as what it didn't say: There were no dire warnings on traffic or promotional activity feeding into the post-holiday period.

The retailer expects a 3% to 4% gain in comp sales for FQ1.

Peer watch: Dollar General (DG) +0.8% AH, Dollar Tree (DLTR) +0.4%.
