- PG&E (NYSE:PCG) says it expects the federal government will bring criminal charges against it in connection with the 2010 San Bruno natural gas transmission pipeline accident.
- PG&E says criminal charges are not merited and that employees did not intentionally violate the federal Pipeline Safety Act; it is in discussions with the U.S. Attorney's Office in an effort to reach a fair resolution of the San Bruno investigation.
- The case stems from the 2010 explosion of a high-pressure natural gas pipeline, which cut through a residential neighborhood in San Bruno, Calif., and killed eight people.
