Though the PlayStation Vita has been written off by many on account of intense smartphone/tablet competition, Strategy Analytics still expects 12.4M units to be sold in 2012, on the assumption that price cuts will lead to a $180 average retail price (current MSRP is $250). As a result, the firm sees Vita hardware and software generating $2B in incremental revenue for Sony (SNE) this year. (previously)
