Fire crews called to Exelon nuclear plant in Illinois

Shares of Exelon (EXC) finished flat following a brief downturn caused by reports of heavy smoke coming an electrical fire at the Quad Cities nuclear facility in Cordova, Ill.

EXC officials have confirmed that smoke was seen but it was discovered while working were making repairs; they appear uncertain if there was a fire at all.

Earlier this week, one of the reactors was shut down for service to replace a valve on the control rod drive system.
