Checking in on J.C. Penney

J.C. Penney (JCP -3.3%) is upgraded by Belus Capital to a Hold rating from Sell.

Analyst Brian Sozzi thinks J.C. Penney is grabbing mall traffic as the promotional message from the retailer evens out and store lay-outs start to make sense again to consumers.

A return to the staid J.C. Penney of yesteryear could lift sales enough to stave off bankruptcy talk.
