A global poll conducted by Ipsos OTX on the TV viewing habits of watchers found that around 86% of viewing is still live.
On the streaming side, 27% of respondents watched TV via computer, while 16% used the TV to watch Internet video.
No surprise, but the younger demographics were more likely to use mobile and handheld devices to watch TV.
The results. which included polling in 20 different nations, is supportive of the idea that the pay-TV industry has a long way to go before crumbling in global markets. Dish Network (DISH +1.8%) and DirecTV (DTV +1.4%) in particular have been tapped to see global growth sustain.
