Stocks look to begin today's session on a flat note as index futures trade little changed; S&P and Dow +0.1%, Nasdaq +0.2%.
Premarket action has featured some earnings reports that were mostly better than expected: Comcast, Travelers, Netflix and United Technologies are poised for early gains after beating estimates, while McDonald's missed bottom-line estimates but the stock is on track for a higher open.
After posting a fifth straight gain yesterday, the S&P 500 has added 3.1% from closing at a two-month low and is now just 1% away from its April 2 record closing high of 1890.90.
Treasurys are off slightly to start the day, with the 10-year yield up one basis point at 2.73%.
Still ahead: existing home sales, Richmond Fed.
