FDA moves to regulate e-cigarettes

The FDA is set to unveil proposals to regulate electronic cigarettes, which will include an eventual ban on sales to anyone under 18. Manufacturers will also have to gain FDA approval for their products, disclose the chemicals used in the devices and add health warning about the addictiveness of nicotine.

The measures don't include a ban on TV ads, online sales or flavored versions.

Lorillard (LO) commands almost 50% of the e-cigarette market in convenience stores, while Altria Group (MO) and Reynolds American (RAI) are starting to ramp up their offerings.

As a Biochemist, I can say with 100% certainty that the fact that 80% of the population (U.S. of course) is overweight and close to 40% is obese is a factor that dwarfs all others when it comes to health related risk factors. I would put e-cigs at about 0.0001% of all health risks facing us.
People just don't like talking about it because......(see above).

As a biochemist you probably also aware that 100% of the population HAVE to EAT. Only 0% HAVE to foul my air. Be interested as to where you get your figures - has not been an overabundant of research yet on e-cigs.
Please give us your professional opinion as to the effects of nicotine on the human body if not too far out of your expertise.
