Ericsson to break Network unit into two

Ericsson (ERIC) intends to split its Network unit into two, with the company creating a business unit called Radop for mobile telecom equipment and another called Cloud & IP.

The idea is to enable each unit to better focus on their respective needs. In particular, Ericsson wants to boost its "challenger" position in the cloud and IP space.

Networks head Johan Wibergh will remain as the leader of both units.

Shares are +1.2% premarket. (PR)
