Futures slip amid heightened Ukraine tensions

Stock index futures are all of about 0.4% as earnings continue to pour in, although a bit of global macro seems to be driving things this morning, with tensions in Ukraine ratcheted up a bit.

Europe is lower by nearly 1% and the Hang Seng - off 1.5% - led declines in Asia overnight.

The 10-year Treasury yield is down one basis point at 2.67% and gold is up $7 per ounce to $1,298.

Western meddling along Russia's borders and threatening deeper sanctions seems to be painful for everybody. Any guesses how it will all end? We'll spend a bunch of money we don't have, supporting a months-old coup govt everybody seems to have forgotten, while Ukraine begs more aid and military support and disregards ethnic differences, killing separatists. My guess is they also fed media manipulation with the anti-Jewish pamphlets, all to hold off Russia in the interests of their own self-preservation. Didn't we go thru this with Georgia not long ago? All IMHO, of course, in the formof a rant.
