iPad 3 (AAPL) models may cost $70-$80 more than comparable iPad 2 models, according to a Chinese price table spotted by MacRumors. The high-res display the iPad 3 is widely expected to feature is undoubtedly more expensive than the iPad 2's display, and rumors also exist about the iPad 3 using a more costly (and powerful) battery.

Now we just need a fed president to say how prices aren't rising because you can get an iPad 3 for barely more than an iPad 2...

Why Fed president has to worry about iPad prices or maxi pad prices?

A price increase is justly due. With new technology comes higher prices. I don't see $70-$80 however $549 may be a justified price point for the 16GB Wifi iPad 3.

A larger battery....hmmmm. Why would that be necessary? I wonder if the iPad 3 could be using an x86 processor... maybe a medfield. Since the A5 processor doesn't run hi def video wrth a damn a Medfield would make sense even if it took a little more power....larger battery would take care of that.
