Skechers eyes strategic stake in L.A. Clippers

Skechers (SKX) is considering buying a stake in the Los Angeles Clippers, according to execs with the California-based shoe seller.

The NBA is forcing owner Donald Sterling to sell the team.

The company could promote its brand and products through the Clippers.

Skechers had 3.4% of the athletic footwear market in March, according to Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America.
