E-commerce plays ChannelAdvisor, RetailMeNot slump post-earnings

ChannelAdvisor (ECOM -13.7%) slightly beat Q1 estimates, but also provided in-line guidance - Q2 revenue of $19.8M-$20.1M vs. a $19.9M consensus, full-year revenue of $85M-$86M vs. a $85.3M consensus - that left investors underwhelmed.

RetailMeNot (SALE -7.6%), which delivers referral traffic to thousands of online retailers via coupons/promo codes, is selling off in spite of beating Q1 revenue estimates and issuing strong guidance on its CC (transcript): Q2 revenue of $58M-$60M vs. a $55.9M consensus, and full-year revenue of $276M-$282M vs. a $270.6M consensus.

ChannelAdvisor faced some CC questions (transcript) about its adjusted EBITDA outlook: The company expects a Q2 adjusted EBITDA loss of $5.5M-$7M, and a full-year loss of $15M-$19M. CFO John Baule said his company will "see a resumption of [its] growth margins" later this year, but held off on confirming 2014 will represent a trough year for EBITDA margins.

RetailMeNot is guiding for Q2 adjusted EBITDA of $19M-$20M (33% margin at the midpoint), and full-year adjusted EBITDA of $101M-$104M (37% margin at the midpoint).
