Cooper Tire & Rubber (CTB -1.1%) says that it reached agreement on a new contract with steelworkers in Ohio, ending a prolonged 3-month plant slowdown that cost the company millions of dollars in lost production. Workers are expected to be back on the job by the end of the week. (previous: Arkansas union settlement)

    read Rabbi Daniel Lapin's book: Thou Shall Prosper; especially the page on Ethical Capitalism.. US management & unions have a different approach towards contract negotiations compared to Japanese firms; then again USW play hardball with Nippon transplants such as Bridgestone & Yokohama too.
