McDonald's sees global comps rise modestly in April

McDonald's (MCD) reports global comparable-store sales increased 1.2% in April.

Comp growth was flat in the U.S. amid what the company called a "challenging" industry dynamic.

Comparable-store sales rose 0.3% in Europe and put in a solid 2.9% gain for the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa region.
