MetroPCS (PCS -6.8%) warns its plan for a $30 mail-in rebate in March will cause a bigger-than-expected increase in Q1 cost per gross additions, a subscriber acquisition cost metric closely watched by Wall Street which could jump to ~$190 vs. an earlier forecast of $173. Ironically, lower sub costs were a main reason PCS Q4 EPS beat analyst estimates.
