Chinese police name expat as the leader in bribery scandal

Chinese law enforcement officials name British national Mark Reilly as the ringleader in its bribery allegations against Glaxo (GSK). Mr. Reilly allegedly set up and expanded the sales departments that offered the bribes.

Two Chinese executives, Zhang Guowei and Zhao Hongyan are also named as potentially guilty parties.

Some observers believe the government's actions in the case are part of a campaign to drive down drug prices. President Xi Jinping has established affordable health care a key part of the Communist Party's agenda.

The company maintains its position that the allegations are deeply troubling and contrary to its values. It is fully cooperating with authorities.
