Kinder Morgan pipeline back in operation after spill

The Plantation pipeline that moves gasoline from refineries near the Gulf coast to several major cities in the southeast U.S. is operating again after a spill Monday shut down part of the line.

Plantation can carry 600K bbl/day of gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and biodiesel, and spans hundreds of miles from Louisiana to the Washington, D.C. area; along the way, it delivers fuel to Birmingham, Atlanta and Charlotte.

Plantation Pipe Line Co. is majority owned by Kinder Morgan Partners (KMP +0.5%).
