Toyota sees a pot of gold in Plano

A plan by Toyota (TM) to relocate its U.S. headquarters to Plano, Texas could bring $7.2B to the local economy, according to estimates.

The automaker could have as many as 3,650 workers at the location by 2018.

The big picture: Toyota sees some considerable cost savings by consolidating some operations to Plano and shifting workers from higher-cost California and Texas. The company hasn't release exact cost-savings estimates which has kept analysts' calculators buzzing.
