American Airlines to add flights to China

  • American Airlines (AAL -0.5%) will start nonstop service to Shanghai and Hong Kong from DFW airport next month.
  • The carrier has been flying to China since 2006 through Chicago and L.A.
  • The China business travel route is one of higher-margin categories in the business.
  • Shares of AAL are up 54% since their debut in December with American gaining some significant efficiency out of bankruptcy.

    This was one of nicest things that happened, after I took a risk on AAMRQ in early December 2013.
