Heads up Lululemon and peers, here comes Dick's Sporting Goods

Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) tipped off during its earnings call yesterday that the women's athletic apparel initiative is delivering comps in the low teens.

Execs said that the company may devote more floor space to the category due to the strong response.

The development could give Athleta (GPS), Lululemon (LULU), and Under Armour (UA) something to think about.

Agreed, bones.. however, i think the point of the article is that "women's athletic apparel initiative is delivering comps in the low teens" which means that the entire category of women's athletic apparel is growing. This is leading Dick's to devote more space to the category. If women's athletic apparel is growing, that is good for companies like Lulu and UA.

I don't think they were ever implying that Dick's would be selling Lululemon. That would seriously dilute the image of the brand.
