Strategic tech deal struck by Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines (DAL +1.4%) strikes a deal with Travelport to grab data and IP rights to shore up its in-house technology capabilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Travelport will still run system infrastructure and provide ticket distribution services for Delta.

The company says the acquisition will make it the only U.S. carrier with direct control over key tech systems.
