Dollar Tree holds up in FQ1

Dollar Tree (DLTR) managed to grow both traffic and its average ticket in FQ1 to defy an ongoing weak trend in the retail sector.

The company reports comparable-store sales rose 2% in the quarter.

Gross profit rate -40 bps to 34.8%.
