Tightened guidance doesn't foil Dollar Tree, shares +2.1%

Dollar Tree (DLTR) trades higher in early action despite issuing guidance below the expectations of analysts.

The company sees Q2 EPS of $0.58-$0.64 vs. $0.64 consensus.

FY14 EPS guidance is set at $2.94-$3.12 vs. $3.17 consensus.

DLTR +2.1% premarket as shares may have been pricing in an earnings miss or an even softer read on sales. As some retail analysts note, Wal-mart or Target would have taken the 2% comp Dollar Tree delivered in FQ1.
