E.ON strikes three-year gas deal with Qatar

E.ON (EONGY) says it reached agreement on deliveries of liquefied natural gas from Qatar for three years, part of its effort to diversify its gas sources from its dominant suppliers Russia and Norway.

The agreement with RasGas is E.ON's third LNG deal in about a year and the second with Qatar in just eight months.

The LNG will be delivered to the regasification terminal on the U.K.'s Isle of Grain, where E.ON has booked capacities; financial details are not disclosed.

Of course if Mrs Merkal's govt repealed the embargo on nuclear power stations imposed after the disaster in Japan, then EOn and RWE would jump.
