18 to 20B over what time frame? Surely not annually?

Have MCD on hold/watch too, pending fresh evidence of sales and OI growth to support dividend growth. Any relevant comments at conference?

    Between 2014 and 2016.

"(MCD) expects to return $18 to $20 billion to shareholders between 2014 and 2016 through a combination of dividends and share repurchases, representing a 10% to 20% increase over the amount of cash returned between 2011 and 2013"

When you've run out of ideas for growing earnings, you announce buybacks and hope people will take it as good news.

Have you ever looked at the vast assortment of McBurgers on MCD's crowded menu board, and realized they're basically all cheeseburgers?

The vast assortment is only meaningless if your tastebuds can't tell the difference between tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, ranch dressing, habaneros, ketchup, "special sauce", etc., etc. and your stomach can't tell the difference between one patty or two.
