Police remove Greenpeace activists from Statoil rig in Arctic

  • Greenpeace protestors have been removed by police from a Statoil (STO) rig in the Barents Sea where the company plans to drill the world's most northerly oil well.
  • Norwegian authorities obtained permission to board from the Marshall Islands, where the rig is registered, as it was traveling through international waters.
  • Fifteen activists boarded the Transocean Spitsbergen rig early Tuesday morning; eight had already left before police arrived.

i do not agree calling green peace a terrorist organization. freedom of speech etc is an important feature of western society, which plays a big part in its development.
