Marathon Petroleum sees damaged refinery unit operational by mid-June

Marathon Petroleum (MPC -1.1%) says it expects the crude unit at its Garyville, La., oil refinery to be operational by mid-June after the plant sustained damage in a tornado earlier this week.

MPC sees a less than 5% reduction to its prior production guidance for the current quarter.

The tornado damaged a cooling water system that serves part of the refinery, causing the No. 1 crude unit and other units to be taken offline.
