KKR agrees to buy Internet Brands for $1.1B

The owner of websites like Lawyers.com, CarsDirect.com, and ApartmentRatings.com, Internet Brands generates most of its revenue from advertising, while also selling leads to lawyers and auto dealers, and such.

Lately, under the leadership of its current P-E owners, the company has expanded into so-called "software as a service."

KKR reportedly has no plans to break up the business, but will instead try to grow all of these business lines.

Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity purchased Internet Brands for $640M in 2010.
