Unilever lower after Credit Suisse warning

Unilever (UL -1.8%) trades lower after Credit Suisse issues a report backing its Underperform rating.

The investment firm has warned on valuation on Unilever for close to a year. The latest take is that emerging markets won't provide the necessary growth to offset sluggish pricing trends in developing markets.

I'm very doubtful about analyst's prognosis. Are Credit Suisse any better than the rest of the bunch?

Let it drop, I'd like to buy in but have been put off by price relative to 52 wk high. I like the way they are tinkering with the product line. There is some risk which I don't feel is being reflected, but now it is close.

kind of curious that a stock like UL gets an overvalued rating now when hasn't gone up much recently while the rest of the market has soared 50%.

Yup, they said to sell last summer at $38, it's 'down' to $44 now. Perfect analyst score. Boy I was dumb to stay long dripping dividends. Someday I'll be as smart as these analysts. And all that international market risks, oh my! Who is going to buy toothpaste in India afterall, I'm sure they'd rather use a government sponsored health insurance plan like we have now for free dental work. Wheeee.......

"analysts" are paid pumpers and dumpers. When they say sell, it means a buy, because that's what exactly they want to do. Scare off investors, and scoop up stock cheaper.
